An adventure over twenty years long.
2002 | When it all started
In the early 2000s Giuseppe Capobianco develops a passion for modelmaking and starts manufacturing his first models out of his home’s garage. Merchant ships, galleons, sailing boats: everything is handmade carving wood.
2004 | Innovation and Technology
Giuseppe sells his first models and starts investing in modern technologies acquiring his first 3D printer.
2008 | New Challenges
The team expands and puts hard work and dedication into creating a product worthy of the “Made in Italy” standard. The demand increases, and the projects become more ambitious: the first model equipped with automated and illuminated elements is sold.
2012 | Growth
The workshop is becoming too small; the team needs new and bigger spaces to continue growing: in 2012 Elisabetta Fantasia with Giuseppe by her side founds Gmodel srl, an establishment with the purpose to amaze and that aims at perfection in every detail.
2016 | MMG World
In 2016 the factory moves to its present location: over one thousand sqm, where ideas roam freely. Concurrently the Model Maker Group brand is born, a new company identity set to become an industry leader.
2019 | Constant Evolution
In 2019 the company’s processes begin a reengineering phase, furthermore a second production site is open. At this new location, the first 5 -axis CNC centre for milling is installed, elevating the quality of the projects thanks to millimetric accuracy of the new machinery.
2024 | Expantion
Europe, America, Australia and the Middle East: the company has reached every destination and offers support at every nautical event. There is an MMG model anywhere around the globe, and somewhere in the world there is a ship owner looking at his miniature yacht, imagining their next adventures.
Where will the future take us?
